Hey movie fans! The first comedy of the year is here! One of Them Days starring Emmy-winning television film star KeKe Palmer and R&B singer SZA has hit the big screen with chaos and laughs.
Hold onto your seats, this R-rated comedy takes you on a wild ride through a day that can only be described as hilariously disastrous.
Dreux (Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA) are ride-or-die besties and roommates living their best (and broke) lives when their world flips upside down. Alyssa’s shady boyfriend Keshawn (Joshua David Neal) pulls a fast one and runs off with their rent money! Now, these two have only to the end of day to scrape together $1,500 or risk eviction. The pressure is on and the duo wastes no time going after him to reclaim what’s theirs.
Whew chile, the story then centers on a lot of chaotic craziness, unexpected run-ins and some laugh-out-loud moments to keep you entertained.
One of Them Days has a solid supporting cast including Vanessa Bell Calloway, Lil Rel Howery, Katt Williams, Janelle James (Abbott Elementary) and Maude Apatow.
This comedy film is produced by Issa Rae (Insecure), directed by television and video director, Lawrence Lamont in his feature debut and written by (Rap Sh!t) showrunner Syreeta Singleton.
Palmer and SZA are comedy’s new dynamic duo. Palmer’s comedic timing was on point and Grammy award winner SZA brought the funny in her acting debut. This film has an old-school 1990s comedy vibe. It wasn’t a big budget film and reportedly shot in a short period of time. If you’re a fan of the throwback buddy-style comedy movies, with outrageous misadventures and fierce female leads, hit the theater and see One of Them Days.
