Sha’Carri Richardson is on the Olympic track

Remember when Sha’Carri Richardson , 24, was disqualified from the 2020 Olympics for having weed in her system? The track & field star from Dallas was devastated, saying that ingested the substance to help calm her nerves after her mom died.

With rules, being rules, Sha’Carri had to wait four years to get another chance to compete in the Olympics, and this time she didn’t let anything get in her way, winning the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.71 at the Olympic trials at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field on Saturday.

“I’m not back, I’m better,” wrote Sha’Carri on her Instagram profile.

It was the fastest women’s 100 time in the world this year, according to NBC News.

Sha’Carri is on track to break Flo Jo‘s 35-year-old world record of 10.49 in Paris this summer.
