The Obamas are spinning educational tunes in their new children’s music series, We the People.  The music show is the latest project from Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company Higher Ground.  The 10-episode series premieres on Netflix July 4.

We The People is an animated music series focused on teaching kids about U.S. civics through original songs.  Each episode is a three-minute music video designed to educate young people on how the country works, what role the government has, and how to be good citizens.

We The People has a winning innovative team.  The vibrant short-form series is created by Chris Nee writer of the popular children’s series Doc McStuffins and the Obamas executive produce with Kenya Barris writer of the critically acclaimed TV show Black-ish.

The former President and First Lady recruited a group of artists to bring the musical episodes to life. The star-studded cast includes H.E.R., Daveed Diggs, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Adam Lambert, Janelle Monáe, Andra Day, and more. The talented musicians will perform original songs. The animated series will also showcase a mix of musical genres. The unique soundtracks in We the People set the tone. The original songs are written in the key of knowledge and are well worth singing.

We the People is coming to Netflix on Independence Day, July 4.
