Trade Holiday Leftovers for Christmas Town Fun at Busch Gardens Williamsburg

This Thanksgiving weekend, our family traded leftovers for laughter and headed to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens Virginia, one of the most magical holiday experiences on the East Coast!

With sparkling lights, global eats, festive shows, and rides that make you scream and smile at the same time, this trip reminded my family of what the holidays are truly about: spending quality time together and creating moments of joy and connection.

When I was growing up, my family would head down to Alabama every summer to meet my cousins for a week of fun running around in the country, eating soul food favorites like catfish and grits and visiting theme parks. Because of those summers, me and my cousins share a special bond to this day.

Now that I have my own family, I wanted to create a similar bonding experience with my son and his cousins. So, when plans were made to move the family’s big Thanksgiving gathering to Virginia this year, just a few hours from our home in the Washington, D.C. area, we jumped at the chance to pack up the car and take the “littles” (my 12-year-old and his cousins) to Busch Gardens in hopes of creating the kind of childhood memories that last forever.

Why I recommend this as a family trip? Because every Glow Girl deserves a getaway that fills her heart, and her hankering for a quality good time.
