Tiffany Haddish: Believe in You

When comedienne extraordinaire Tiffany Haddish found out she won a 2021 Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album for Black Mitzvah, she broke down in tears. Watch the video and read the full text of her heartwarming response below.

“You want me to tell you why I’m crying?,” she sobbed, while caught off guard by the news of her win on a TV set.

“It’s a lot of bumpy roads that you cross,” said Tiff. “And a lot of times you feel like, ‘Well, am I doing the right thing? Is this good enough? Am I good enough? Am I strong enough to do this job?’ and then you just have to believe in yourself as much as you can,” she said to a group of young girls on the TV set.

“Against all odds you just say, ‘You know what? I’m a just put my best foot forward and I’m gonna give the world the best that I’ve got,” said the breakout star of Girls Trip, the film that launched her long career in comedy to new heights (who here remembers Tiff on TV One’s Who’s Got Jokes?)

“Anything is possible,” she concluded.

And to this, I say: Oh yeah! She Ready! —Markette
