Who Is ‘Raising Dion’s’ Mom?

After a long wait (like 2 years) season 2 of Raising Dion, is finally here (watch the official trailer below)! Produced by Michael B. Jordan and based on a comic book by Dennis Liu, the second season begins with Dion, a kid superhero in training being told by his mom that everything is going to be normal, but should we believe her? I mean, in season one we saw a ghost dad (played by Jordan), we slayed proverbial dragons that were once family friends, we defeated a crooked electro-esqe man… that’s a lot to unpack.

So here are a few facts about Alisha Wainwright, the actress who plays the mom on Raising Dion to help you decide if she’s a credible witness to “normal.”

  • She’s 32 years old
  • She was born in Orlando, Florida
  • Her mother is from Jamaica, her father is from Haiti
  • She started her acting career on a YouTube show.
  • She may have had a fling with Justin Timberlake (a married man) in 2019, but then COVID-19 hit and the media moved on, at least most of the media.

“I think human beings, they adapt to new normals all the time,” said Alisha to TV Insider. “I think if you constantly feel like your life is in chaos, you can’t settle down and move forward, so, yeah, I think to a degree she’s like ‘This is my new normal!’”

So what do we think Glow Getters? Do we forgive and not judge Alisha for her past entanglement with a married Just Timberlake ( COVID has seemed to kill any spark in that fire, anyways) or do we forever give her and him a side eye? Make sure you leave a comment below or on our Instagram.
