Cheslie passed away due to an apparent suicide, jumping from the 29th floor of her New York City apartment building on the Sunday morning of January 30, 2022, according to various news reports.
She was a 30-year-old lawyer, MBA, TV host and correspondent at Extra TV who famously won the 2019 Miss USA pageant while rocking her natural hair.
Below is the last post Cheslie made to her social media feed.
What is it about the here and now that is causing people to opt out and feel like they cannot go on? Cheslie’s mom, April Simpkins (pictured below), now shares that Cheslie was privately struggling with stress and “high functioning depression.”
