“Girls5eva” is a comedy jewel

Grab a snack and get comfy! Girls5eva is a must-see original series streaming on Peacock!  It’s a binge-worthy show packed full of laughs, heart, and fun!  Girls5eva follows four women, now in their 40s, when they reunite their ‘90s girl group after a young rapper samples their only big hit.

The entire cast of Girls5eva deserve five stars on their comedic performances. Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Busy Philipps, and Paula Pell strike the right musical balance as the group. These talented actresses really sell the extreme personalities of their characters with Goldsberry brilliantly portraying the delusional, over-the-top diva, Wickie.

Girls5eva is a comedy treasure!  The series gives you a bit of a retro vibe. Viewers will easily sense girl groups from the ‘90s and early ’00s served as inspiration for this sweet-sounding group of ladies. The original songs in this musical series are epic. The lyrics are hilarious, very catchy and a bit wacky. The songs are infectious and add depth to the storylines.

Girls5eva is skillfully written. Tina Fey crushes it as executive producer!  Her comedy stylings from past shows 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt are centerstage in this series. The show tackles the girl ensemble’s relatable modern-day issues and cleverly touches on past industry challenges for girl-groups without losing its comedic edge.

Girls5eva is a top-notch comedy! It’s hysterically funny, clever and has heart.  The half-hour episodes are an easy watch and go by quickly.  The characters are funny and lovable.  Viewers will enjoy their hilarious trek to regain pop-star status and quickly become a fan of the series.  For a laugh-out-loud, good-time, check out “Girls5eva” streaming on NBC’s Peacock.
