I hope you brought your notebooks. Grab a pen or at least open up the “Notes” app on your phone because I’m about to take you to school. Today’s topic today will be: moving forward, while simultaneously looking back. I know this sounds confusing, but hear me out.

Imagine if every complicated conversation you put off having, every scenario you’ve mentally faced, each challenging situation, the moments of uncertainty, and everything you have dealt with played out the way you imagined it would. Isn’t it always worse in our heads? Then, once you bite the bullet you realize that you might’ve been overthinking or overreacting. That is why we have to lay our burdens down and keep going.

Don’t you get it? This is all part of your story, sweetheart. Keep that in mind while you’re working towards your goals. I can promise you that one day you’re gonna sit back and say, “I remember when I thought… (insert random thought here).” One day you’re going to reminisce and think to yourself in amazement, “WOW, I’ve come a long way. I can’t believe how much I’ve grown.” We have to grow to glow; that’s the No. 1 rule in the glow-up.

If you’re working three jobs in the middle of the pandemic just to be able to put food on your table, I’m proud of you; keep going; this is all part of you’re story, and it isn’t over. If you’re working all day and then staying up late working on a passion project, then I see you, too! Don’t lose hope, hold on to your faith, and keep grinding; this is part of your story, and it isn’t over. No matter how difficult it is, or how much adversity you have to face, keep pushing; don’t give up on your dream; this is all part of your story. Speak it out loud, live out loud, recover out loud!

What a beautiful thing when we come out of recovery and learn new things about ourselves; we find out that we are not actually slackers, that we have an excellent work ethic, and that integrity runs deep in our roots. There is nothing more satisfying than realizing how strong we are; we can’t do that without acknowledging just how much we’ve overcome, though. Believe me, there’s beauty in our hardships. Look for the beautiful things in life, and keep going. Your story isn’t over.

I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase: don’t look back, that’s not where you’re going. Class, I challenge you to do the exact opposite. I want you to keep moving forward and continue building your dream, but I also want you to stop along the way and smell the roses, and when you’re doing that, I also want you to take a second to look back and see just how far you’ve come. Class dismissed.

Oh, and one more thing, don’t forget to come back and see me next week, we’re going to discuss the importance of building your team! And as always, please don’t forget to:
